Thanks to the new Detailed Building Volume module in Belmap, insurers can now check the volumes of premises even more closely. The result? The calculation of premiums can be even more accurate.
Short recap: the power of Belmap
From insurance to utility facilities and the retail trade: numerous sectors use Belmap as a tool for discovering where customers live, work and shop. It contains valuable information for all sorts of decisions with respect to locations: from information on addresses to the dimensions and function of a building.
In even more detail
Now there's something extra. With the new Belmap module Detailed Building Volume, you can find out the volume of a building with 99% accuracy.
This volume calculation is nothing new, however, the way in which it is done is. Previously, Belmap did not take account of specific structural elements in buildings, e.g. the shape of the roof or bay windows, in order to make an estimate. The new calculation does: external features on LOD2 level, such as roof structures, will help to provide a more detailed result.
This is primarily beneficial to insurers: thanks to the new function, they can now estimate building risks quicker and more accurately, and then calculate premiums more efficiently on this basis.
