The latest Belmap release of 2023 includes new information about roofing, more detailed insights about solar panels and renewed 3D visualisations.
Roofs come in all shapes, sizes and materials. The type of roof and the orientation of all roofs in the Benelux have been in Belmap for several years. Now the roofing materials for Belgium are added. Green roof, thatched roof or traditional tiles? It provides interesting insights for sustainability policy and for risk assessment by insurance companies.
Even more insights about solar panels
From now on, Belmap not only tells you which roofs are equipped with solar panels, but also the number of solar panels and the total surface area they occupy. Useful information for insurers, energy suppliers and managers of large buildings in the context of the mandatory installation of solar panels.
Better 3D rendering of buildings
The Walloon Region recently made its new LiDAR data available from the 2021 and 2022 data capture. Together with a new processing process for Belgium, this significantly improves the quality of 3D building volumes and building contours. This brings us another step closer to a faithful digital copy of reality.
Exit CRAB. Welcome Address Register
The Adressenregister took over the role of CRAB as the authentic address data source for Flanders at the end of 2023. Belmap also switched to the Adressenregister as one of many sources for address information.
